Former NFL Lineman Tony Siragusa Joins DIY Expert & Home Improvement Expert Jason Cameron, premiering June 16 at 1 p.m. ETKnoxville, Tenn June 2007 National Football League veteran Tony "The Goose" Siragusa knows that every man needs a place to call his own. And this Fathers Day weekend, he joins home improvement contractor Jason Cameron in showing viewers how to create the perfect "guy" space in DIY Networks Man Caves. Premiering on Saturday, June 16 at 1 p.m. ET, "The Goose" and Cameron offer ideas and do-it-yourself instructions to turn the most basic basement into the ultimate "man cave" complete with a sports bar, poker room, personal gym and home theater.
"Men need their own space. A place where the kids and the wife nobody comes in but the man and his boys," said Siragusa, a key anchor of the Baltimore Ravens top-rated defense during the 2001 Super Bowl Championship Game. "Not that we don't love our families, but they might like us a little more if we keep our 'guy-stuff' in its own place."
The five, half-hour episodes of DIYs Man Caves feature the transformation of North Reading, Mass., resident Larry Cannalongas basement into a testosterone-filled haven that can only be described as every mans dream. Cameron and Siragusa show Cannalonga and his lifelong best friends just how to make it happen including the installation of dry wall and drop ceilings, and the construction of several man cave essentials from a custom poker table to a Boston Celtics inspired wet bar.
Cameron and "The Goose" pave the way for Cannalonga by developing a game plan to create a four-room man cave out of his raw basement. Before these college buddies pump their muscles, play cards, watch the big screen, or drink some beer, there is a lot of work to be done from laying the foundation to building walls to laying floors. The first Man Caves episode, "Prepping the Man Caves" kicks off DIYs Fathers Day Weekend celebration, "Whos Your DIY Daddy?" on Saturday, June 16 at 1 p.m. ET, followed by four more episodes documenting the renovation:
